The last five episodes of Homeland could hardly have flown by any quicker, and with the series approaching the halfway point, the show's writers have been kind enough to give viewers one giant mind game of an episode this time round, leaving us all asking: does everyone already know what their next move is?

With Brody now in CIA custody you could just as easily say that this is it and the show could all but finish now - of course that was never going to be the case as the show took one detour followed by another.

Opening up within the confides of an interrogation room, this week covered what appeared to be the 24 hours following Brody's arrest and over the course of the episode, it appeared that each of the characters had an ace up their sleeves and are playing the game just as they planned. After a few episodes with a little too much unnecessary dialogue and twists and turns, this week marks the return to the show being massively unpredictable and reminded us why it has been so well-loved.

With a table full of incriminating evidence in front of him, it looks as though Brody is cornered, yet his coy demeanour and cool handling of the situation do nothing but rile up the officers, culminating in Quinn going off the rails and sending a pen knife right through Brody's hand. After a quick injection of.something, he's subdued and removed from the room, yet rather than let things slip away and be left for later, Carrie steps in and plays it as cool as a cucumber to ultimately lead to some kind of cooperation between both parts. At the end Brody is released and sent home, with the CIA 'safe' in the knowledge that they now have an ally in Brody... or do they?
