Hailey Baldwin has spent $2,500 on a puppy for her parents.

The 18-year-old model visited Citipups in Chelsea, New York City, at the weekend with friends Kendall Jenner and Jaden Smith and picked out a three-month-old Shiba Inu as a gift for Stephen and Kennya Baldwin, who celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary today (10.06.15).

And as well as splashing out on the pooch, Hailey also picked up another $500 worth of food and accessories for the dog, TMZ reports.

Hailey decided to buy a pet for her parents to keep their lives ''extra exciting''.

Alongside a picture of herself holding the new pup, she wrote on Instagram: ''happy early anniversary Mom and Dad, you've been married 25 years now so I bought u a puppy to keep the next couple of years extra exciting (sic)''

Hailey has been romantically linked with Justin Bieber, but her father previously insisted it was better she stayed friends with the 'Boyfriend' hitmaker.

Asked if they are dating, Stephen said: ''No they're not. It's just nice to see in this day and age that two adults, who have known each other since she was 12, can just be friends. Isn't that cool?

''Justin's doing great he's been in New York hanging out with pastor Carl Lentz from Hillsong NYC and that's where Hailey goes to church so it's all good.

''I think it's best they just be friends.''
