In addition its reign at the top of the American box offices, Furious 7 has doubled its domination after its soundtrack album roared to Number One in the Billboard 200. The multi-artist compilation climbed a place to the top spot in the week ending April 12th, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

The Furious 7 soundtrack has benefitted from the massive single ‘See You Again’ by Wiz Khalifa, which is also sitting atop the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart this week. The track, a tribute to the movie’s late star Paul Walker, plays over the movie’s end credits.

The song sold 464,000 individual downloads last week, and that translates into 58,000 track equivalent album sales for the soundtrack, over 50% of its 111,000 sales total.

It’s the fourth soundtrack to top the Billboard 200 in the past twelve months – the other’s being Frozen, Guardians of the Galaxy and the TV soundtrack to current smash series ‘Empire’.

Last week’s chart topper, Wale’s The Album About Nothing, slips out of the Top Ten altogether, landing at Number 11. Entering in the Number 2 spot is pop-punk band All Time Low, with their sixth album Future Hearts. It sold 80,000 copies, and is currently holding the top spot in the British albums chart.

Another soundtrack is at Number 3, this time for the erotic movie Fifty Shades of Grey, which climbs six places having sold 47,000 copies. Maroon 5’s V is at Number 4, making a reappearance in the Top Ten having slipped out last week. Their single ‘Sugar’ is currently receiving heavy radio rotation.

Holding at Number 5 yet again is Taylor Swift’s 1989 (43,000), now just a fortnight away from spending six consecutive months in the Top Five. Sam Smith’s In The Lonely Hour is, likewise, a non-mover at Number 6 (43,000).

At Number 7 is Kendrick Lamar’s well-received To Pimp A Butterfly, falling three places with 42,000 copies shifted. Fellow hip-hop star Drake reappears at Number 8 with the mixtape album If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, leaping up six places (40,000).

Rounding out the Top Ten are two more re-entries – Ed Sheeran’s X at Number 9 climbing three (39,000) and Meghan Trainor’s Title at Number 10, also jumping three places (34,000).
