Groundbreaking was scheduled to take place today (Wednesday) in the beach town of Juan Dolio in the Dominican Republic for a massive film and television studio to be operated by Britain's Pinewood Studios Group. Called Pinewood Indomina Studios, the center piece of the facility will be a water effects facility with one of the largest water tanks in the world, complete with a diving and marine department. Production facilities, the company said, will initially comprise about 15,000 square feet of sound stage space and 45,000 square feet of production support facilities.
