Programming giants CBS and Dish have finally reached some sort of consensus on the contract terms that have been poisoning the well for the past couple of weeks. On Saturday, CBS finally agreed to deliver its programs to Dish’s 14 million subscribers.

How I Met Your Mother Cast
CBS programming like How I Met Your Mother will be available to Dish subscribers again.

CBS had previously pulled three channels – CBS, CBS Sports and Showtime – from the Dish package, but restored them after the agreement was signed. As Reuters notes, this is only the latest of a string of disputes between media conglomerates and distributors over the price of carrying cable channels and terms.

The pending litigation between the companies will be dismissed, however CBS has not disclosed the exact amount of the contract. After the original contract expired on November 20th, it was extended twice, but no agreement was reached. On Friday evening, CBS said it would no longer be available to Dish viewers in 17 major markets, including New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Denver, near Dish headquarters in Englewood, Colorado.

However, one of the terms of the deal was announced – Dish agreed to block access to its commercial skipping service AutoHop for new programs on CBS stations for a seven-day period. The deal also gives Dish rights to Showtime video-on-demand content but only within the home. So, Dish subscribers, rejoice - your CBS cable is safe for one more year, at least, but you'll have to put up with a few Axe commercials.
