Deadliest Catch star, Elliot Nesse, may not be returning to the show for it's ninth season.
Deadliest Catch has proved to be one of the more enjoyable and actually exciting reality series to come out in the past few years and a lot of this success comes from the dynamism of the crew aboard the many vessels on the show. With the ninth season fast approaching, Discovery have unveiled a promotional video for the upcoming series however there is something missing from the promo that has been a mainstay on the promo since the first episode: the Ramblin' Rose's captain Elliott Neese.
The sneak peek of the new instalment of episodes shows all of the other captains and crew-members preparing for embarkation on their respective boats, but one of Deadliest Catch's main stars Neese is nowhere to be seen. Although no-one from Discovery has yet to address Nesse's absence from the promo clip, some of his Deadliest Catch co-stars have spoken to the press about the missing Nesse. Scott Campbell, who works aboard the Seabrooke said to the Inquisitr: 'Elliot should be here. He should be ready to go.'
But as we have seen, Nesse isn't there and he might not be ready to go ever again considering how he coped during the last season of the show. Nesse, who is the youngest captain to appear on the show, had a rough time last time round and it was clear that he was struggling with the stress and strain of commandeering a fishing boat on the harsh Alaskan seas. Sig Hanson, who captains the Northwestern, has given the Inquisitr his own explanation as to why Nesse isn't around any more, and thats that he thinks Nesse has been fired. He said, 'In all honesty, I’m kinda not surprised Elliott isn’t here this year … No owner is going to let a guy run a boat and not produce. You’re going to lose your job.'
Deadliest Catch returns on Discovery at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Tuesday, April 16.
