In limited release, Fox Searchlight's Cyrus expanded from 4 to 17 screens and remained the top draw on a per-theater basis, averaging $17,600, for a total of about $300,000, bringing its ten-day total to $565,000. (By contrast, Toy Story , which led the overall box office and had the highest average ticket price, averaged $4,475 per theater.) The film from director brothers Mark and Jay Duplass, received much praise from critics on Friday. Performing nearly as well was the Afghan war documentary Restrepo , which opened in two theaters (in New York and Los Angeles), grossing $30,500, or a per-screen average of $15,250. The film, which follows an army platoon fighting in the Korengal Valley, won the Grand Jury Prize for Documentary at this year's Sundance Film Festival.
