There was a bit of a shock for families piling into a Nottingham, UK cinema, eagerly anticipating the screening of fluffy kids favourite ‘Madagascar 3’.

Children as young as five were in the city’s Cineworld cinema and their little faces of eager excitement turned to abject horror as the cinema managed to load up not the Disney box office powerhouse, but the latest in the Paramount horror franchise, ‘Paranormal Activity 4’. Soiled pants everywhere, literally... probably.

Natasha Lewis, who took her eight year-old son to the showing commented “It opens on the most terrifying scene in the first film - where a body shoots full pelt towards the camera. It's enough to make grown men jump, so you can imagine the terror in these young faces." She added: "all you could hear were children crying and screaming". It was not reported by The Independent whether some of the crying and screaming from the audience was due to the ineptitude of the acting, the tired clichés of horror films being re-trodden further into the ground and the general feeling of futility within the genre. We can only give our utmost props to the cinema staff though for managing to confuse film titles whose only similarity is in that they both have numbers in their name.
