Kidnap savior rewarded for his heroism, with free McDonalds
Twitter have been calling for it for weeks now, and finally Charles Ramsey has been rewarded for saving three abducted women from the house of his next door neighbor, Ariel Castro, with McDonalds confirming that they’ll give the unlikely hero free meals for a year. He must be 'Lovin' it.'
Why McDonalds? Well, as CNN reports, Ramsey told news stations that he was just about to sit down and tuck into the fast food on the day that he heard a commotion at the Castro place. Discovering a woman, and subsequently finding out that she was the decade-plus missing Amanda Berry, he helped her to escape and aided her by letting her call the police who then saved two more women from the house.
Ramsey’s memorable interview made headlines, in which he exclaimed that he knew there was something wrong when a white woman would run into the arms of a black man, and there were calls for him to be suitably honored. There has been some controversy surrounding Ramsey though, after it was revealed that he had a criminal past, including domestic violence, burglary and drugs; however McDonalds have now confirmed he’ll be getting his year’s worth of free meals. There’ve been 14 local restaurants in the area who have also offered Ramsey free food, ensuring his waistline isn't going to be in a healthy state for the next 365 days.
