Legendary DJ Casey Kasem, who hosted America's Top 40 for years, is in a dreadful condition at his home in Holmby Hills, near Beverly Hills, though his wife is blocking his kids from seeing him.

Casey is 81-years-old and is suffering from advanced Parkinson's disease, though wife Jean Kasem will not allow his kids Kerri, Julie and Mike to visit him. It's a weird situation, though according to TMZ.com, the children have been trying to make contact with their father for three months, to no avail.

In fact, the kids have been outside his house this week with a group of friends, family and former co-workers. Jean wasn't having any of it and promptly called the cops in attempt to clear them from the property.

Casey's brother, also on the scene, tells the entertainment website that Jean has a strained relationship with Casey's kids and that he hasn't spoken with Jean since his brother married her. Kerri, Kasey's oldest daughter, says Jean aggressively blocked the kids from the house.

Apparently, this isn't about the money. The kids have all been excluded from Casey's will and have known that for a long time. Kerri says they just want to see their father and are being blocked from doing so.

"Your children are here for you.  We have not abandoned you," said Kerri, in a message to her father.

Kasem, whose signature sign-off is, "Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars," was replaced by Ryan Seacrest on America's Top 40 in 2004.
