Caroline Herrera says she and Renee Zellweger enjoy an ''uncomplicated'' relationship.

The 76-year-old Venezuelan fashion designer has worked with the Oscar-winning actress for the last 15 years, providing her with dresses for the red carpet, after they met at a Costume Institute gala celebrating the public wardrobe of Jacqueline Kennedy.

Caroline and Renee have also become friends and the clothing expert is very appreciative of the loyalty the 'Cold Mountain' star has shown her and her clothes.

Speaking to The Washington Post newspaper, she described their relationship as being ''lovely, uncomplicated and easy. Personal.''

Although Caroline and Renne share a close working relationship, the designer accepts this is not the case with many stars who she and other designers may provide dresses to.

She explained: ''There's no fidelity. There's millions of designers and they're offering spectacular things. (Celebrities) go from one to the other.''

Caroline - who debuted The Carolina Herrera brand in 1981 - has been less than impressed with many of the red carpet gowns she has seen recently and was shocked by just how much flesh stars such as Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez and Kim Kardashian West bared at the recent Met Gala.

She said: ''They're supposed to be fashion icons and they're not wearing anything. It's an obsession now.''
