Loose Women co-host took a tumble and broke her nose
Carole Vorderman has paid the price for taking the healthy approach to life and opting for the stairs instead of an elevator. The 52 year-old TV presenter was leaving a meeting at an office block in central London, decided to take the stairs rather then the lift and lost her footing, resulting in her crashing into a brick wall and smashing her face up. The former Countdown host suffered a broken nose, as well as several cuts to her forehead that required stitches.
“Because I had my hands in my coat pockets while I was running, I had nothing to break my fall except my head,” Vorderman told The Telegraph. “The bruising round my eye has reached its peak. I will have a plaster on my nose for a week and hope that the swelling starts to go down.” Carole was lucky enough that her boyfriend, the former Red Arrows pilot Graham Duff, was on hand to take her to the hospital, where they patched her up but she’ll be needing to take a bit of time off her TV presenting work until her face heals.
“I feel like a complete idiot – I really do look like I’ve done eight rounds with Muhammad Ali,” said Vorderman. She added “[I’m] just counting my blessings I didn’t damage my skull or the left eye itself… I’m feeling OK but I have had to cancel work for a few weeks – so no more Loose Women for a while.”
