The radio host followed up the announcement with a barrage of profanity-laden tweets directed at Sirius XM.
Shock jock Anthony Cumia of The Opie And Anthony Show on Sirus XM has finally gone overboard with a series of racist tweets which got him fired from the station and the show he co-hosts.

On Thursday, Sirius XM released a statement, explaining their decision to let go of Cumia, who has been co-hosting with Gregg “Opie” Hughes since 1995.
“The decision was made, and Cumia informed, late Thursday, 3 July after careful consideration of his racially-charged and hate-filled remarks on social media," Patrick Reilly, senior vice president, Communications, SiriusXM said in a statement. “Those remarks and postings are abhorrent to SiriusXM, and his behavior is wholly inconsistent with what SiriusXM represents.”

The “racially charged” tweets referred to a fight that Cumia allegedly had with a black woman in Times Square. The barrage of offensive tweets also included several messages, degrading women. Since his firing was announced, Cumia has also gone on a twitter rampage against his former radio station as well. While the tweets are currently unavailable on his profile, screenshots have surfaced online and quotes have been posted by The Guardian and several other online news outlets.
At this point it is unclear if Sirius execs plan to keep the show, but replace Anthony, or get rid of the long-running Opie & Anthony Show altogether.
