Baseball wife Anna Benson has been arrested after she pulled a gun on her husband in the midst of a messy divorce.
According to Fox News, the 37 year-old former exotic dancer and wife of baseball player Kris Benson - Anna Benson - is charged with assault and criminal trespassing after she barged into her estranged husband's home wearing a bulletproof vest and threatened the former major league pitcher with a gun and metal baton unless he coughed up some cash. Speaking after the incident, Kris Benson told of how he'd lied, saying he was going to get money, when he snuck away and called the police.
In July 2012, Anna said she had accused Kris of having an affair with her best friend, with prompted the baseball star to file for divorce. The pair have three children together and a large home in Cumming, Georgia. Speaking to Fox News at the time, Anna said, "Kris was my whole life. And he left me for someone else and he just abandoned us," as she anticipated post-divorce life, "I'm scared and I just don't know what I'm going to do or how I'm going to take care of these kids."
The couple met in 1998 when Anna was dancing in a strip club in Atlanta, whilst she already had a daughter with another former husband and whilst Kris was playing in the minor leagues. She filed for divorce in 2006 but changed her mind and now it seems the former Baseball Wives star believes she's been cheated on, despite having previously threatened to sleep with all of her husband's baseball teammates if he cheated on her. Kris has said of her claims: "As much as I'd love to comment about these accusations, I think it's best for myself and my children that I let things be handled legally, not through the media."
Kris Benson Has Filed For Divorce From His Wife, Anna Benson:
Now reportedly looking after their four children, Anna claims she received $4,000 a month towards child support, yet had to register her children as "homeless" for the fall semester at their local school due to their 8,000 sq ft. Georgian home being sold with Anna explaining, "I don't have any documentation to provide to the school...For me to be able to get them in the school district that is appropriate, I have to register them as being homeless."
Although the 'baseball wife' wants to create a normal, stable environment for their children again, having allegations of her husband's infidelity bandied about in the media and now her arrest after her threatened violence isn't exactly going to help her cause.
