Veteran Actor Jay Gerber Has Died, Aged 86.
The TV regular passed away on 2 October (15) at his home in Los Angeles.
Gerber had recurring roles on classic U.S. series such as Barney Miller, Night Court, Knots Landing and L.A. Law, and also made appearances on shows such as Eight is Enough, M.A.S.H, Dallas, Doogie Howser, M.D. and Alias.
He had a memorable guest role in a 1977 episode of All in the Family, as the brother of the recently deceased Stretch Cunningham, played by James Cromwell.
Gerber's late brother, Roy Gerber, was an agent and talent manager who served as the inspiration for the character of Oscar Madison in Neil Simon's The Odd Couple.
His film credits include Al Pacino's Dog Day Afternoon, Three Wishes and Memoirs of an Invisible Man.
