Will the disruption caused by the phenomenal success of Fifty Shades Of Grey never cease? Couples left right and center are being affected by the erotic novel as many seek to use it to spice up their sex lives – with contrasting results.
For a 41 year-old banker, the attempt to bring some joie de vivre back into the bedroom between her and her husband has backfired and she is now seeking a divorce. Oh. Talking to the Daily Mail, her solicitor Amanda McAlister explained the situation: “The woman had been reading the book and wanted to spice up her love life” she said. “She thought their sex life had hit a rut – he never remembered Valentine's Day and he never complimented her on her appearance.”
Inspired by the book, McAlister’s client reportedly “bought sexy underwear in an attempt to get her husband more involved. She said, ‘Let's make things more interesting.’ But when he still didn't take any notice she told him he had a boring attitude to sex and she was fed up.” His response? Blame Fifty Shades Of Grey. “He went ballistic when he found out the name of the book she was reading and told her, ‘It's all because you have been reading that bloody book.’”
According to McAlister this sort of occurrence is becoming more and more regular in divorce cases, the lawyer claiming that it is now women and not men who are unsatisfied with how much nookie they’re getting. The banker’s husband is reportedly admitting ‘unreasonable behavior’ in an effort to speed up the divorce. He must really be spent.
