Natalie Portman doesn't ''worship'' her Oscar.
The 33-year-old actress, who won the Best Actress trophy for her role in 'Black Swan' in 2011, refuses to display the prestigious statue in her home because she thinks ''it's a false idol.''
She said: ''I don't know where it is. I think it's in the safe or something. I don't know. I haven't seen it in a while.
''I was reading the story of Abraham to my child and talking about, like, not worshipping false idols. And this is literally like gold men. This is literally worshipping gold idols -- if you worship it. That's why it's not displayed on the wall. It's a false idol.''
Natalie, who has three-year-old son Aleph with husband Benjamin Millepied, moved to Paris late last year so he could take over the helm at the Paris Opera Ballet and has mixed feelings about living there.
But she added: ''I like being a stranger in a place. You're kind of an outsider, and I think that's what makes you. It's the only way I've ever known.''
The brunette beauty says being married has made her want to be a better person.
She said: ''The disappointments are always in myself, and like, when you're faced day to day with someone looking at you, it's like a mirror that you have to yourself, and you can see your own good behavior and bad behavior. And it's a beautiful challenge to be the best person in the mirror that you can be. I mean, I don't beat myself up over it, but I'm not always as generous as I feel like I could be.''
Meanwhile, the Israeli-born star, who is also a spokesperson for Dior, insists she isn't holding a grudge against disgraced fashion designer John Galliano, who was sacked from his own label for making anti-Semitic remarks during an argument outside a bar in 2011.
She said: ''I don't forgive the comments, but ... we've all done things that we regret.''
