The Transporter
The Transporter Review

This is a non-stop action film that really doesn't stop. Transporter opens with an insane back street car chase then settles down to introduce the characters and plot before setting off on an adrenaline drunk Kung Fu / car chase / shoot out which doesn't let up until the final credits. The film is essentially a Hong Kong action flick with all the usual gun ballet and hard-hitting Kung Fu but transported to the sunny south of France.

Jason Stratham (Frank) is PUMPED and looking every inch the action hero. After a shaky start where it's a little hard to decide just which accent Jason is going for he settles down into an assured performance and his mastery of martial arts set piece is a gratifying shock to the system. The camera loves him and his muscular posing is both convincing and arousing.

The martial arts sequences really are a thrill, several notches above anything you've seen by any Hollywood actor, thanks mainly to Jason's convincing skills which when added to this the fact that he is English you really can't help rooting for him.

Aside from the fighting there's the driving- and plenty of it, this film does nothing to harm the kudos of Mercedes Benz as the team of stunt drivers wreck suspensions and raise insurance premiums all along the Cte d'Azur. The appearance of rocket launches and high-powered machine guns also add a little spice, which ensures the full flavour of this impressive action flick.

If you're looking for an action film that's got it all where it counts and still want to see something refreshing, check out this surprising and exhilarating film as soon as you can, and remember to wear a seat belt.
