Forwards

Similar to Moby and Orb, but with a more soulful voice of Matt Schwartz from Deepest Blue.

Here we have a strange and funky from the guys of Oxford, a variety of tunes are on this album.

There’s a different type of music on here for everyone!! It’s a sort of chill out Ibiza album, with trumpets, slow soft drum beats and guitar solos. Some songs don’t have that much vocal; it’s a case of just listening to the music. And rather enjoy it - I hope because I did!

The album also features the beautiful vocals of Zero 7-collaborator Sophie Barker on the ‘Walking Away’, a similar sound to Air.

My favourite tracks are “ Venice Beach” and “”Walking away”. These songs are just conventional and have the power to take you anywhere in the world.

Some tracks have the warmth which these two do; you can almost imagine yourself on a gorgeous beach with a pina colada in hand….

…Anyway, The Egg are a quality band, their album features some of the best tracks an instrumental piece have released in years.

Check out “Say you will”, this has a sort of gospel/R&B vocal setting to it. The piano is really melodic; this track reminds me of the film “Beach” starring Leonardo DiCaprio.

“Walk on the snow” is quite dramatic. It’s very dark and gloomy to begin with and then all of a sudden it becomes light and refreshing. I really like it!

“Angel of my soul” has a quite alien vibe to it! See for yourself!

They’re gracing festivals all over this year. Confirmed so far is Victoria Park, Hackney in London 23rd July with Groove Armada, 24th June Friday at 3.00pm on the dance field. They will also be on the 2nd stage on the 9 - 11th September on Sunday evening with Kruder dorfmeister and more.

I’m sure they’ll be doing more tours this summer; they’re great to listen to!
