Infernal Affairs
Infernal Affairs DVD Review

Snappy & stylized in Hong Kong! Tony Leung Chiu-Wai stars as Yan, a police mole in the triads for the past ten years. He's been deep, deep undercover for so long that he's started to question his focus and sanity.

Meanwhile, Andy Lau is Ming, a rising cop who's secretly a triad mole. For the same ten years, he's been feeding information to Sam (Eric Tsang), a ruthless triad kingpin who Yan currently works for. Sam's archenemy is Organized Crime and Triad Bureau Inspector Wong (Anthony Wong), who's Yan's only link to the police force. During a drug's raid the two men realize there is a mole and both are tasked with finding the other. Very Intriguing.

The film could be seen as a Face/Off - Rip/Off, but I feel this film has a much better plot as it relies on a much more grounded realism that a life of crime contains; when it comes to cops and triads in Hong Kong everyone is trying to f*ck everyone else. I'm not a big dubbed films fan, I only wish I could understand Cantonese so I didn't miss any acting in a very well acted film.

The film is stylized with wonderful editing to ensure the tension and drama. This is achieved by snappy scene changes from one angle to another, from one man to another, from one location to another.

The worst thing in the film the scenes with Yan & his love interest have a very cheesy soundtrack. Slow, high pitched erhu that says, these two are going to fall for each other.

Definitely worth a watch.
