Goodbye, Mr Scott: It was with much sadness that we reported on the death of director Tony Scott this week, brother of Ridley, and the man behind 80’s classics ‘Top Gun’ and ‘Days of Thunders’. The likes of Tom Cruise and Denzel Washington have paid tribute to the creative visionary, and we’d like to issue our own sympathies to the Scott family.
Shia Craziness: Our jaws nearly hit the desk this week after Shia LaBeouf revealed he would be getting filmed “real” sex scenes for Lars Von Trier’s new movie Nymphomaniac After about 10 minutes of asking ourselves “Is this some kind of joke?” – we started asking, “But...isn’t Nicole Kidman in that movie?”.
Complicated? On a cheerier note this week, we were a little taken aback by news that Avril Lavigne is engaged to Chad Kroeger – the lead singer of rockers Nickelback - despite only recently splitting from Brody Jenner. And wasn’t she married to the Sum 41 guy? Nevertheless, we’re sure the pair are very happy and wish them the best for the future!
Burglers, Be Warned: We’re guessing that if you were robbing a swanky home, and the lights suddenly came on – you probably wouldn’t want to see LL Cool J standing there, angry, in his pants. That’s exactly what happened to a hapless criminal this week, and you can probably guess what happened.
The Crown Jewels: Talking of men in their pants: Prince Harry returned to his wild-partying ways this week, stripping off in his Las Vegas hotel room and dancing around like a crazy person. Unfortunately, the pictures quickly found themselves on the internet. Oh Oh.
Back, To The Future!: We wish we could jump into the DeLorean time machine and set the date to 2013, when Michael J Fox will be returning to television for a brand-new single camera sitcom. What’s more, NBC has already picked up 22 episodes of the show after a furious bidding war featuring all of the major networks.
Good Girl Gone Bad: Rihanna raised eyebrows this week by revealing to Oprah Winfrey that she was still in love with Chris Brown – her ex-boyfriend who notoriously assaulted her before the Grammy Awards in 2009. There’s been talk of a romantic reunion, and despite the furore, we’re pretty sure her fans would respect any decision that the singer makes.
Baby, You’ll Be Famous: One of Lady Gaga’s Romanian fans found himself the subject of a viral video this week after trying to get a little too close to the singer as she left her hotel. We couldn’t help but laugh as the autograph hunter was tackled to the ground by two bulky looking security guards. We’re sure he was fine, though he’ll probably think twice next time.
Video Of The Week: This week’s hottest footage comes from Las Vegas, where Olympian Ryan Lochte gave an interview about his recent triumphs. We thought the clip was fitting, as a short time later, he was racing Prince Harry at a boozy pool party. And we all know how that ended.
