Back In the Fray: We were pleased to see Robert Pattinson return to the public eye this week, with what turned out to be a very amusing appearance on Jon Stewart’s Daily Show. The British actor has endured a rough couple of weeks, but by the looks of it, he’s coping with it all just fine!
Jen’s getting hitched: Finally! Jennifer Aniston announced this week that after years of searching, she’s finally found the one. The former Friends actress is engaged to marry the screenwriter Justin Theroux. We wish both of them the best of luck. The question is, who will marry first, Jen or Brad?
Copycat? Miley Cyrus certainly caused a stir this week by chopping off her hair and, well, bleaching it platinum blonde. Though she took quite a battering on Twitter, we don’t think the new style is all that bad: but is it original?
Whiter than white? It’s not such good news for Pattinson’s now ex-girlfriend Kristen Stewart, who has reportedly been dropped from the sequel to ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’. In light of recent events, Universal has instead decided to go ahead with a movie based around Chris Hemsworth’s character. Ouch.
Swift turnaround: You didn’t think Taylor Swift was going to rest on her laurels and bask in the success of ‘Speak Now’ did you? No, us neither. So we were thrilled to hear that the country sensation will return with new album ‘Red’ in October. One particular song about an ex-lover is already causing quite a stir!
Comeback, Complete: After a rough year, we here at Contactmusic.com were delighted to hear that FX are about to put pen-to-paper on a 90 episode deal for Charlie Sheen’s new sitcom ‘Anger Management’. It’s likely to put Charlie back to the top of the list of television’s biggest earners: where he belongs!
Back for Good? Talking of comebacks, it was particularly pleasing this week to hear that Matthew Perry’s latest sitcom ‘Go On’ pulled in 18.5 million viewers for its pilot episode on NBC! Hopefully Perry has finally shaken off the shadow of Chandler Bing and will enjoy success with his latest project.
Curtain Call: Congratulations to all those involved in the Olympics closing ceremony last week: a celebration of British music, film and culture. Among the stand-out acts were Muse, Elbow and a very stoic Gary Barlow.
Video of the Week: This week’s hottest footage comes from the streets of Manhattan, where Lea Michele is seen filming scenes for the forthcoming series of Glee. Any doubts that she was leaving the show have therefore been swiftly extinguished!
