Miranda Lambert, 27, and Blake Shelton, 34, have got married in the most anticipated country-music union since the one between Faith Hill and Tim Mcgraw in 1996.
According to US Weekly, the Lambert Sheldon Wedding took place on Saturday evening (14 May 2011) at Don Strange Ranch in Lambert's home state of Texas. They exchanged vows in front of 550 people including family, friends and fellow country singers such as Reba McEntire, Martina McBride and Cee Lo Green. Lambert, who had worn her mother's wedding dress, told US weekly soon after the ceremony: 'I'm married to my best friend! Looking forward to a lifetime of laughter'. Shelton added: 'I wanted to be married to Miranda the day I proposed. Finally, it's official!'. The pair have long said that they planned to serve wild game that they harvested themselves at their reception and had asked friend NEAL MCCOY to serve as the entertainment. Whilst this is the first marriage for Lambert, Shelton had been married to Kaynette Williams from 2003 to 2006.
Blake Shelton is set to release his sixth album later this year whilst Miranda Lambert is returning to the studio to record her fourth, after winning her first Grammy Award this year for 'Best Female Country Vocal Performance'.
