Mindy Kaling is appearing on the cover of Elle, along with three other lovely ladies, for their "Women in TV" issue. But the magazine has caused a bit of controversy over Kaling's cover.

Elle featured Kaling along with Amy Poehler, Zooey Deschanel and Allison Williams. The controversy started because Kaling was the only actress who body wasn't shown, and the only actress who was featured in black and white. But The Mindy Project actress said the whole thing is stilly.

"I love my @ELLEmagazine cover," Kaling wrote Tuesday on Twitter. "It made me feel glamorous & cool. And if anyone wants to see more of my body, go on thirteen dates with me."

Elle caused a bit of trouble last year when they featured Melissa McCarthy on their cover in a long, covering coat. But the actress later said it was her decision to wear the coat for the shoot.

The magazine responded to the latest criticism (via the Los Angeles Times) by saying, "Mindy looks sexy, beautiful and chic. We think it is a striking and sophisticated cover and are thrilled to celebrate her in our Women in TV Issue."

Kaling decided to use the opportunity to promote her show, The Mindy Project.

"Wishing for more skin on my @ELLEmagazine cover? Chris Messina & I are naked on a brand new #themindyproject tonight, ya pervs!" she wrote. "(It's actually, coincidentally, true. Thank heavens my writers constantly script nudity. So: super funny, totally nude Chris/Mindy tonight!)"
