The Jonas Brothers and Common 'Don't Charge Me for the Crime'

So how did rapper Common end up working with the Jonas Brothers? We can only assume he took pity on the Disney brothers who were trying to rework their sound and image for an older audience. The result was a bizarre story about a bank robbery which Entertainment Weekly called, 'the sonic equivalent of being held at gunpoint by a baby rabbit.' Which is actually a pretty accurate description. As Common repeats in the song ‘wrong place wong time’ and yes it was, but also wrong song wrong collaborators.

The Hives and Cyndi Lauper 'A Christmas Duel'

Christmas is a time that can really bring out some weird songs and this one might just take the cake. Swedish indie suit wearers The Hives clash with 80s pop icon Cyndi Lauper in this off beat festive number which sees the pair arguing it out with each other. 'I bought no gift this year and I slept with your sister', sings Pelle Almqvist but that's ok becasue Cyndi, 'brought no tree this year and slept with your brother', charming. As weird as it sounds it actually kind of works, and really it's much better than the usual carol renditions we’re treated to at that time of year. Who'd have thought that these two unlikely friends would have been able to make it work?
