Netflix has just given the green light to a second season of comedy 'Grace and Frankie', starring Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin. The series premiered earlier this month on the streaming service and earned positive reviews from the critics. But earlier this week something much more important than a few star ratings happened, as mega-famous singer Miley Cyrus came out as a fan of the show.

Cyrus became a big fan of ‘Grace and Frankie’ over Memorial Day weekend.

“I found my show! #GraceandFrankie on a bender! Jane & Lily are so bad a$$!” the singer told her Twitter followers on Monday, in tweet which has so far been shared over 2,500 times and favourited by 5,000 users.

The tweet from Miley was also enough to make Netflix stand up and take notice and a day later 'Grace and Frankie' was renewed for a second season. Speaking to Vulture after news of the renewal broke, the show's co-creator Marta Kauffman made sure to thank the singer for her public endorsement.

"Let me say, it's so awesome to do a show on Netflix," Kauffman said in a statement. ”Because two and a half weeks after we launched, Miley Cyrus does a tweet about your show, and they call and say, 'We'd like to do a season two.' So yes, there is a season two. We have [head of content acquisition for Netflix] Ted [Sarandos] and Miley to thank.”

If you haven't already checked out ‘Grace and Frankie’ on Netflix it might be time to follow Miley’s lead, as the series is quickly becoming everyone’s new favourite show. Reuniting 9 to 5 co-stars Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, the comedy centers on two women whose husbands have fallen for each other and are leaving them to be together.

Despite being polar opposites and never really getting on before, hippie art teacher Frankie and retired cosmetics mogul Grace must now help each other move on and start the new chapter in their lives. The show’s second season is expect to premiere on Netflix next year.
