Miley Cyrus and Patrick Schwarzenegger are trying to get their relationship back on track.

The 22-year-old singer is reportedly ''embarrassed'' after photographs emerged of her boyfriend, 21, interacting with ex-girlfriend Taylor Burns in Mexico last week, and is struggling get over the incident even though she believes he didn't cheat on her.

A source close to the 'Wrecking Ball' hitmaker said: ''Miley is embarrassed about the photos and Patrick is devastated about that because he really cares about her.

''They've been talking and are going through a tough time.''

Patrick, who is the son of Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger, has assured Miley that he did nothing wrong.

The insider told PEOPLE.com: ''He didn't cheat or kiss anyone but she's still not happy about the photos. It's just embarrassing for her, and him. They're trying to work this through.''

The couple, who started dating in November, put on a united front as they dined at Kiwami in Studio City, California on Monday night (23.03.15).

An eyewitness told 'Entertainment Tonight' that they held hands, kissed and laughed throughout their meal.
