During his tenure on Live! with Kelly and Michael so far, the former NFL star has proved himself to be an endearing and charismatic presenter, who is credited with breathing new life into the show. Audiences have warmed to his charm and often self deprecating humour and have particularly praised his chemistry with co host Kelly Ripa. Though they might have seemed opposites on paper Rippa and Strahan have a clear off screen bond that has translated well on screen and proved a hit in the ratings.

Now Strahan will be adding a new high profile spot to his television resume, a co-hosting spot on Good Morning America. For now the gig is said to be just part time and Strahan will continue to present Live! with Kelly and Michael. For many former athletes retirement proves the biggest career challenge of all, but Michael has handled it with ease. Transitioning from the football field to mainstream television is not an easy career move, but you wouldn't be able to tell that based on Stranhan. As much as he would surly be missed alongside Kelly Rippa, a GMA hosting gig is just too good to turn down. Luckily for now it seems like viewers might get a double dose of Strahan in the mornings, which is really worth getting up for.
