Queen are to release a track which they recorded with Michael Jackson before the death of frontman Freddie Mercury in 1991.
Queen are to release a track they recorded with Michael Jackson on their new compilation album.
The legendary 'Bohemian Rhapsody' band's frontman, Freddie Mercury, died in 1991 but new recordings have now emerged which feature the rocker and his band collaborating with the late 'Thriller' superstar who passed away in 2009.
The collaboration - called 'There Must Be More to Life Than This' - was first penned by Freddie in 1981 and later revisited in 1984 when he worked on the track with Michael in Los Angeles.
However, the recordings were never released and the song instead featured on Freddie's solo album 'Mr Bad Guy' in 1985.
The ill-fated recordings were recently discovered by Queen's remaining members - drummer Roger Taylor and guitarist Brian May - who decided to revive the collaboration with the help of William Orbit, who has produced for the likes of Madonna and Robbie Williams.
Talking about the track, William explained: ''Hearing Michael Jackson's vocals was stirring. So vivid, so cool, and poignant, it was like he was in the studio singing live. With Freddie's vocal solo on the mixing desk, my appreciation for his gift was taken to an even higher level.''
The track will feature on the album 'Queen Forever', along with two other previously unheard tracks; Giorgio Moroder collaboration 'Love Kills' and 'Let Me In Your Heart Again' which was written by Brian May.
Discussing the collection earlier this year, Brian told the BBC:''We found a few more tracks with Freddie singing and all of us playing and they are quite beautiful.
''It is a compilation but will have this material that nobody in the world has ever heard. I think people will really enjoy it.''
'Queen Forever' will be released on November 10, 2014 on the Virgin Records label.
