Michael Fassbender has joked he studied Ashton Kutcher to play Steve Jobs.
The 'Prometheus' star portrays the Apple co-founder in the upcoming biopic - which shares its name with the late American entrepreneur - and he cheekily has claimed he based his portrayal on Ashton's interpretation in 2013 film 'Jobs'.
Asked how he prepared for the project, Fassbender said with a grin: ''I studied Ashton Kutcher.''
The 38-year-old actor also admitted he tried to talk director Danny Boyle out of casting him in the lead role and told him that Christian Bale looked more like Jobs than him and would be better suited to the part.
Speaking at a press conference for 'Steve Jobs' at the New York Film Festival on Saturday (03.10.15), he said: ''Obviously I don't look anything like Steve Jobs. That was the first thing I said to Danny. I said, 'Christian Bale looks a lot more like Steve Jobs than me.'
''He wasn't interested in that - he wanted to get the energy and essence of the man and go with that.''
Despite playing the man who gave the world the iPod, iPad and iPhone, Fassbender has confessed he's not very good with technology and uses it ''pretty poorly'' on a day-to-day basis in his life.
He said: ''I'm not very interested in technology. I use it pretty poorly. So everything was new to me, to be honest.''
Fassbender stars in 'Steve Jobs' with Kate Winslet, Seth Rogen and Jeff Daniels and the movie is released across the US at the end of October.
