Melissa McCarthy has paid a Twitter tribute to the ''remarkable women'' of the new 'Ghostbusters' movie.
The 45-year-old actress stars alongside Kristen Wiig and Kate McKinnon in the female-led reboot of the iconic sci-fi franchise and has taken to her social media account to hail the movie's crew.
Addressing the message to chat show host Ellen DeGeneres - who recently fronted a campaign about female empowerment - she wrote: ''3 cheers to Ellen from all the remarkable women of #Ghostbusters. When we stand together we are unstoppable!#GirlPower (sic)''
In the accompanying image, all members of the crew can be seen holding signs with their individuals roles written on them.
Meanwhile, it emerged earlier this month that Bill Murray is to make an appearance in the eagerly-awaited reboot, having been spotted on the set of the movie.
The actor - who starred in the two earlier movies in the franchise, in 1984 and 1989 - had previously distanced himself from links to the film, saying his reluctance was tied to the fact the second 'Ghostbusters' movie was less well received than the original.
By contrast, Emma Stone admitted she declined the chance to appear in the film because it was too ''big'' a commitment.
She said: ''The script was really funny. It just didn't feel like the right time for me.
''A franchise is a big commitment - it's a whole thing. I think maybe I need a minute before I dive back into that water.''
