The Ima Boss hitmaker, 28, was sentenced to serve three-to-six months behind bars in his native Philadelphia, Pennsylvania last summer (Jul14) after he violated the terms of his parole, linked to his 2009 drug and guns conviction, and he reveals his fame did more harm than good for him while he was locked up.

Recalling his harrowing time in isolation, Meek Mill says, "Imagine being locked in your bathroom for 23 hours a day for, like, a month.

"I was complaining to my lawyer like, 'Why they keep coming in my cell with dogs and s**t five in the morning when I'm sleep (sic)?' Men with masks on. I gotta stand a**hole naked in front of some men every night. But they were just targeting me.

"It's just two sides to being famous. You could be targeted or you could be treated better. It was a terrible thing."

Despite the harsh treatment, Meek Mill did have one thing to look forward to each day - a phone call from his now-girlfriend, Nicki Minaj.

The two rappers had been growing close prior to Mill's jail term, but didn't actually start dating until some time after his release in December (14).

He says, "I never really told anybody that I used to be talking to her on the phone at that time. We was on the phone everyday. It just ain't happen on overnight... She was holding me down. She ain't never miss a call (sic)."
