Matt Damon's children have started to realise he's a movie star.

The 'Bourne Identity' hunk - who has daughters Isabella, nine, Gia, seven, and Stella, four, as well as 16-year-old Alexia from his wife Luciana Barroso's previous marriage - has appeared in numerous movies and even has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but his young daughters are not yet fully aware of how famous he is.

He admitted: ''I think to a certain degree the older ones do, they are aware of it. The younger ones probably not so much.''

The 44-year-old actor continued to explain part of their lack of knowledge about his job is due to the fact many of his films are not age appropriate for the youngsters, meaning they are only aware of his role in the 2002 animated movie about the adventures of a young horse, 'Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron'.

He explained: ''[My children] do know that I did the movie 'Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron'. They watched that one, which is an animated movie, but they know that is my voice.''

And although they remain naïve about his career, he's not convinced any of them will follow in his footsteps.

Recalling one of his daughters' career ambitions, he said: ''One of the girls said 'Dad, I don't want to be a movie star; I want to be an astronaut.'''
