Many of us have experienced that moment. That awful moment when you realise you've lost both your phone AND your wallet, aware that it could have ended up simply anywhere. Of course, it should be even worse for a celebrity, when you consider the amount of valuable personal phone numbers they'll have in their phonebook. But for 'Avengers' star Mark Ruffalo, his fame turned out to be quite the asset.

Winter Storm Jonas hit New York City over the weekend and, while most people were sensible enough to stay indoors, Ruffalo quite frankly wasn't. Hence, he took to Twitter with an emergency bulletin requesting help to find his missing phone with the promise of a reward. 'APB out for a cell phone in a wallet case out on the streets of NYC in a blizzard. My driver's license is in there. Reward and signed pic', he posted

Many fans left a variety of different suggestions as to how he could find it, prompting a thank you message from the star: 'Wow, thanks for all the tips and help for my lost phone. Really appreciated', he said.

Within 20 minutes, Ruffalo had revealed that he'd just found his missing valuables, with the help of two tiny strangers named Catherine and Amenaide Brown. 'OMG It was just found! That was freaking fast. Thanks for helping me find it!!' He exclaimed via Twitter.

The Brown girls actually discovered the phone whilst walking home but, because the phone was locked, they had no way of getting into it to find a way of getting it to its rightful owner. That was until someone called the phone and left the number on the screen, allowing the family to call it and find their way to Ruffalo's publicist.

According to TMZ, the actor actually dropped by their house later and rewarded the girls $100. He posted a photo of himself posing with the girls on Twitter, accompanied by the message: 'Thank Amenaide and Catherine Brown for finding my Phone and wallet! Thanks Brown family for your decency.'
