Mariah Carey performed in Central Park, New York on Saturday (13th July 2013). She may have been suffering with a dislocated shoulder - a fact she felt the audience needed to be constantly reminded of- but she continued with her set admirably.

She was performing as a guest for New York's Philharmonic Orchestra. The performance was at the Major League Baseball All-Star Charity Concert; the proceeds of which went to the Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.
Carey had to deal with pain resulting from a dislocated shoulder. The singer damaged her shoulder on July 7th whilst shooting a music video. As a result, she performed whilst wearing a sling. Carey, being something of a diva, certainly wasn't prepared to let the show go on without attention being paid to her condition.
Arriving 5 minutes late to the stage, Carey said "I'm not in the best of health here". Prior to performing one of her songs she said "this requires more stability than I have right now". Finally, to hit the nail home completely, upon returning after an interval she said "I'm in a tiny bit of pain".

Her sling was certainly a talking point as the coverings of which matched her dress perfectly. The white dress in which she first appeared had a matching white fur stole to disguise the sling. The black dress in which she appeared later in her performance was wing-like with feathers covering her injured arm.
Carey's set included 'My All' and 'Looking In' (from her 1995 album Daydream). After returning from the interval, then dressed in black, she performed her latest single '#Beautiful'.
Fans were permitted to attend the concert for free. Sponsors of the event donated money to Sandy Relief, an organisation providing support for the people and area affected by Hurricane Sandy.
