Carey's residence at New York's Beacon Theater continued on Sunday night, but Beyonce surprised the singer by coming backstage, where they shared a selfie.
Mariah Carey got a surprise when she performed her latest show at New York City’s Beacon Theater this weekend, with none other than Beyonce going backstage to meet her – where the pair took a rare selfie.
“I love you @Beyonce thank you sooooo much for coming out tonight,” the ‘Mariah’s World’ star excitedly shared via Instagram on Sunday night (December 11th).
46 year old Mariah was performing her current show ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’, which is playing at the New York venue until December 17th when it moves out of town. Bey, who has kept a pretty low profile on social media this year, seemingly couldn’t resist going along to catch the performance and documenting the experience.
The two pop divas are huge fans and admirers of each other’s work, with Mariah expressing an interest in working with the Lemonade star in an interview earlier this year.
“I love Beyoncé. She knows this, most people know that. I'm a fan, I love her and we have fun together, like she's a fun person, she's really cool,” she told television host Andy Cohen back in May this year. “I would love to do a collaboration with her.”
More: Dancer Bryan Tanaka was a “sweaty mess” when he met Mariah Carey
Meanwhile, Carey, who recently split up with billionaire fiancé James Packer and is now believed to be in a relationship with her back-up dancer Bryan Tanaka, has announced her plans for 2017 include a lucrative joint-headline tour with fellow pop legend Lionel Richie.
On Monday, Carey and Richie unveiled the ‘All The Hits’ tour, which will span 35 dates and run from March 15th in Baltimore to May 27th at Fort Lauderdale. It constitutes the first North American tour that Carey has undertaken in six years.
