Madonna may have legions of fans waiting desperately impatiently for her Super Bowl performance this weekend but one person who will not be tuning in, apparently, is David Furnish. TMZ filmed a brief interview with Elton John's husband as he left the Red O restaurant in Los Angeles, asking whether or not he'll be watching the Super Bowl entertainment. Furnish simply told the reporter that he doesn't watch football and reminded him that he lives in Britain. When asked if he would be watching Madonna's star-turn at half-time, Furnish paused for a moment and simply replied "I don't watch football."
The interview comes just weeks after David Furnish and Elton John were hugely critical of Madonna's win at the Golden Globes, where she took home a prize for Best Original Song. Elton had already told reporters on the red carpet that she didn't stand a chance of winning. The couple were left shame-faced when her name was called but rather than gracefully accepting defeat (Elton was also nominated in the same category), David Furnish took to his Facebook profile and posted a message that read "Madonna. Best song???? F**k Off!!!"
Elton has also been approached by the media to see what he thinks of Madonna's forthcoming Super Bowl performance and in an interview with Good Morning America, he told the 53 year-old singer to "lip synch good."
