Madonna is set to embark on a world tour next year.

The '4 Minutes' singer is keen to commemorate her set of 1985 'Like a Virgin' shows with a set of dates across the globe, and hopes the performances will be a great way to launch her 13th studio album.

A source revealed: ''This is going to be one very special tour. Madonna wants to pull out all the stops, especially because it is 30 years since the 'Virgin' tour.''

The 56-year-old singer performed a string of dates around the world last year in support of her album 'MDNA' which spawned the single 'Give Me All Your Luvin', and is now looking to create a live show even better than any of her previous nine tours.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, the insider continued: ''Like her 2012 'MDNA' tour, where she played 88 dates in places including Europe, South America and Asia, Madge will be travelling the world. Once the new record is finished she can concentrate on the concerts.

''Madonna knows that in order to stay relevant she has to keep reinventing herself and push boundaries.

''The new tour will show a side of her that no one has seen before.''
