More than 45,000 articles were generated in the British national press since the turn of the millennium, putting her way ahead of any of her contemporaries.
British pop star Robbie Williams followed her lead, winning the male honour with more than 27,000 stories written about him over the last decade.
However, no one beat Michael Jackson in 2009, whose death in June (09) has garnered the most copy this year.
