Originally scheduled for Wednesday, the New York court has delayed the custody hearing until March 2nd.
Madonna’s court date for her custody feud with ex-husband Guy Ritchie has been postponed for a month, as they fight over living arrangements for their teenage son Rocco.
Originally scheduled for Wednesday (February 3rd), the court in New York that was supposed to hear the case has delayed the date until March 2nd. No reason has been given for the delay, but TMZ, who broke the story, speculated that it may have been down to last-minute negotiations between the former couple and their son.
Madonna's court date over Rocco's custody has been delayed by a month
An unnamed source had told the Sunday People at the weekend that Madonna had been in London briefly to speak to her son face-to-face, in an attempt to persuade him to come home with her ahead of the hearing. “These are crucial talks and a last chance for Madonna to convince Rocco that he should return home ¬before the court case,” the source said.

Rocco was spotted cycling in London with his film director father and his new wife, model Jacqui Ainsley, on the day of the hearing. The source continued: “she’s desperate to have him back with her in New York but things have obviously got very frosty and he has already made it clear that he’d rather stay with his dad in London. It’s a sign of how seriously she’s taking this that she’s flown all this way in the middle of a world tour.”
Another article published on Wednesday in UsWeekly told of Madonna’s apparent frustration at the situation, that she believes Ritchie is trying to “brainwash” Rocco against her. Ritchie, who is rumoured to have got $75 million from Madonna after their 2008 divorce, is said to still be bitter about the break-up and is using this custody battle to “get at her however he can.”
The battle began back in December, when Rocco didn’t fly back to New York to spend Christmas with his mother despite a Manhattan judge’s order to do so. He has apparently been living in London with his father ever since he quit Madonna’s Rebel Heart tour in December after a row over his mobile phone.
