Her accent is totally unique.
Lindsay Lohan has been driving the internet crazy recently after a clip of her adopting a strange transatlantic accent during a promotional event for her new nightclub in Greece was released online. Now she's finally revealed what's behind her new voice, and that it's very much genuine.
What is going on with Lindsay Lohan's voice?
The 'Mean Girls' star is of Irish and Italian decent, but that certainly didn't explain her accent when she spoke to a reporter during the opening of Lohan Nightclub in Athens, a project she embarked on with her friend Dennis Papageorgiou (he's definitely just a friend, according to Lindsay). It's easy to assume that the accent came from months of jet-setting to Greece, to Turkey where she has been helping with the refugee crisis, and to the UK where - according to some reports - she currently resides. But the truth is, she's been learning languages.
'It's a mixture of most of the languages I can understand or am trying to learn', she told the Daily Mail. 'I've been learning different languages since I was a child. I'm fluent in English and French can understand Russian and am learning Turkish, Italian and Arabic.'
That sounds like LiLo has a lot of studying to do, no wonder her voice is all over the place and far from the New York twang she has always had. 'What should I call my new accent? I'm thinking #LILLOHAN', she quipped on Twitter in a post that has since been deleted for reasons unbeknownst to everyone.

Fans have suggested that she now sounds English, South African, Australian, French and Russian - we say she sounds like a combination of all five. It has prompted people to joke that the Lindsay we are seeing is actually her twin from the 1998 film 'The Parent Trap'.
The actress recently posed as Harley Quinn from 'Suicide Squad' for a Halloween party.
