Lindsay Lohan's acting comeback is officially on again - the troubled star has signed up to portray Elizabeth Taylor in a new TV movie.
The Mean Girls star has been linked to the project, titled Liz & DICk, for three months, but she made the part hers on Monday (23Apr12).
And Lifetime network boss Rob Sharenow has confirmed the actress will play Taylor.
A statement from him reads: "We are thrilled Lindsay will portray beloved Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor. She is one of the rare actresses who possesses the talent, beauty and intrigue to capture the spirit of such a provocative icon."
Lohan adds, "I have always admired and had enormous respect for Elizabeth Taylor. She was not only an incredible actress but an amazing woman as well. I am very honoured to have been asked to play this role."
Film bosses are now on the hunt for the actor who will play Taylor's soul mate and husband Richard Burton.
The project will start shooting in June (12), according to industry reports.
