Lindsay Lohan 's cover shot for the forthcoming issue of Playboy magazine leaked online this week, with fans initially unsure about the Marilyn Monroe-inspired image which features the actress straddling a chair in the shape of the brand's famous bunny logo.
It seems as though Playboy boss Hugh Hefner also had issues with the shoot, telling entertainment show The Insider, "I would say that I had some reservations early on, but after a couple of false steps, everybody came on board and it's going to be very exciting", adding, "It's a classic tribute inspired by the original Tom Kelly nude pictorial of Marilyn Monroe". Many have made the comparison between Lohan and Monroe, though some fans are pointing out that the cover also resembles a shoot featuring Christine Keeler - the model and showgirl whose involvement with a British government minister became known as the Profumo Affair in 1963. Lohan will offer a more detailed look at the magazine when she sits down with Ellen Degeneres on December 15, 2011, her first media appearance since she served less than five hours in jail for violating the terms of her probation last month. Her representative Steve Honig has been talking up the shoot to the New York Post, saying, "The pictorial is absolutely fantastic and very tasteful, and will be accompanied by an interview that will let readers see another side of Lindsay".
The Mean Girls star reportedly pocketed $1 million for the Playboy spread and she follows a number of high profile stars to have graced the cover in 2011, including Daisy Lowe, Elizabeth Jagger, Karina Smirnoff, Charlie Sheen's former 'goddess' Bree Olson and Playboy veteran PAMELA ANDERSON.
