Lil Wayne has been forced to cancel his forthcoming British tour after his UK visa application was denied, reports MTV News. 28-year-old Lil Wayne was forced to cancel a European visit in 2009 after falling ill.
Lil Wayne spent much of last year behind bars after he was sentenced to eight months in prison for weapon possession charges. Although the rapper had only confirmed one British date, in Ireland, he had been expected to perform at several major festivals. However, the UK Border Agency rejected his application because of the singer's criminal record, which also includes assorted drug charges dating back to 2007. Despite the ban, Lil Wayne insists he is now sober, saying, "My sweat taste different. My sweat used to taste like weed. But now it's just, I'm like, I don't know what it is". The rapper last toured Europe back in 2008 when he played a dozen dates including shows in London and Leeds. Speaking after the tour, Wayne said, "They knew the words to my songs. It's a big surprise to know that Europeans actually understand what I'm talking about, because you have to know what I'm talking about to say it".
Lil Wayne released his eighth studio album 'I Am Not a Human Being' on 27th September 2010 while he was still in prison. The album debuted at number-two on the US Billboard 200 based on its first week digital sales alone.
