Barack Obama’s eldest daughter Malia has landed what sounds like a dream job for most 17 year olds, working on the set of HBO series ‘Girls’. The 17 year old, who celebrated her birthday yesterday, is said to be interested in pursuing a career in TV or film after she graduates next year.

Lena Dunham Lena Dunham will be keeping Malia busy this summer.

Malia was spotted by TMZ hanging out on the set of ‘Girls’ on Thursday. The President’s daughter was pictured sipping a soft drink while the series filmed on location in Brooklyn hipster restaurant, Aurora Ristorante.

Malia has previously been reported to be a fan of Lena Dunham’s hit HBO series, with an article in the New Yorker early last year describing the Obama’s as being wary of their daughter's interest in the raunchy show at first. But Lena Dunham seems to be just as big as fan of Malia, with the actress tweeting the teen on her birthday last year writing, 'Happy Birthday Malia Obama! Let’s all hope we’re as elegant as you when we grow up'.

But this isn't the first time Malia has landed a cool behind-the-scenes TV job, last year she took a job working as a production assistant for Halle Berry's CBS show ‘Extant’. During her time on the ‘Extant’ set Malia is said to have done everything from computer shop alignments to bringing coffee for the cast and crew.

Malia’s mother Michelle has also spoken in the past about her daughter’s aspirations as a filmmaker. “Just like her father, she is an avid reader, and she enjoys movies,” Michelle told People magazine in 2012. “But she's a freshman, so she knows she has years in college to explore her interest.”
