Lady GaGa ''was glowing'' at her engagement dinner.

The 28-year-old singer, whose boyfriend of four years, Taylor Kinney, proposed on Valentine's Day on Saturday (14.02.15), was ''very excited'' as they toasted the occasion with her parents at their restaurant, Joanne Trattoria, in Manhattan.

Eyewitness and Times-Herald Record executive editor Barry Lewis said he immediately ''knew something was up'' when he spotted the 'Applause' hitmaker entering the eatery with two bodyguards.

He told E! News: ''Suddenly, she puts out her hand and starts showing off her ring, just the way any newly engaged woman would. She wasn't loud, but she was very excited. I would say she was glowing.''

Taylor appeared nervous when he arrived at the restaurant hours after presenting the 'Poker Face' singer with a heart-shaped diamond ring.

Lewis said: ''Her parents hugged her while he looked on. He was a little sheepish, the way any guy would be in front of his future in-laws. I heard him talking about how they had waited four years and how hard he had been looking for the right ring.''

Another eyewitness, Vlad Panov, added: ''Everyone was very happy, but I didn't realise what was going on until I hear Gaga's mother say, 'I have a son now!' Then it was clear, they had gotten engaged.''

The blonde beauty - whose real name is Stefani Germanotta - started dating the 'Chicago Fire' actor, 33, in 2011.
