The video opens where 'Perfect Illusion' left off.
Lady GaGa has unveiled an emotional, country-style music video for her single 'Million Reasons'; her second release from the number one album 'Joanne' which she launched back in October this year. It's another captivating look at the singer reflecting on the trials of her early career.
Lady Gaga launches 'Million Reasons' video
The video begins where the video for 'Perfect Illusion' ended. Gaga is lying on the ground looking downcast in a dusty desert in LA, contemplating her situation. Some SUVs drive up to collect her for her video shoot. She looks thoroughly miserable as make-up artists make her up, but finds peace when she opens a gift-wrapped box on her dressing table in which there is note reading 'Love you sis' and a rosary. We also see her breaking down in tears in the desert as a crowd of her friends flock to her to comfort her.
Gaga upped the country vibe of the song with cut scenes to her dressed in baby pink from head to toe, complete with cowboy hat, flairs and high heels, with a guitar slung over her shoulder. It might be a love song, like 'Perfect Illusion', but again it follows an alternative narrative to that of a romance.
Directed by Ruth Hogben and Andrea Gelardin, the video shows Gaga's relationship with her career - how her friends and family have supported her when producers and managers took advantage of her youth in her early years.

'Million Reasons' was co-produced and co-written by Mark Ronson, Bloodpop and Hillary Lindsey. Gaga performed it for the first time in Nashville on her Dive Bar Tour, and also went on to play it at Saturday Night Live, the American Music Awards and the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.
A cover version of the song was recorded by Kelsea Ballerini and released on her Instagram account.
