Lady GaGa spent £8,000 during a shopping spree in Britain.

The 'Poker Face' hitmaker spent the extortionate sum at Afflecks Palace emporium in Manchester earlier this week, shocking shoppers as she made her way around the vintage boutiques in the area.

Kuhl Vintage's owner Kathryn McDonald, who pointed the 28-year-old star towards a beaded 20s dress and some World War Two utility clothing, told the Daily Mirror newspaper: ''Lady Gaga was absolutely lovely - really polite and approachable.

''She was here quite a while and was a really good customer.''

She added: ''We're all independent traders so it really means a lot that she came - we're over the moon. She's welcome back any time.''

Vanessa Cawley, the owner of American Graffiti, added:'' We've had a few famous people in before but Lady Gaga is the most famous one yet.

''I wouldn't want to say how much she spent but it was more than most customers. It was pretty amazing.''

Gaga arrived for her shopping spree in a gold floor-length gown, but swapped it for a black lace ensemble that she bought from the Elysia boutique.
