BBC bosses are desperate for Kylie to return
The Voice has emerged as one of the U.K’s most popular shows after a slow start in the shadow of Simon Cowell’s The Voice. Getting renewed for another season was expected, but one thing that is still up in the air is the personal; will Kylie be going for another series?
Kylie Minogue is a wanted woman
BBC One Controller Charlotte Moore said in a statement: “It’s been fantastic to see The Voice return in top form to kick start BBC One’s brilliant year so far, the new line-up has really connected with audiences and I look forward to it returning to the channel next year.”
Mark Linsey, Entertainment Commissioning Controller added; “The Voice has really cemented itself as hugely popular on BBC One Saturday nights and I am delighted that we will be dusting down the iconic red chairs for another airing next year.”
More: Dannii Minogue says she and Kylie are 'boring'
For Cowell, who is known as the go-to expert in the field of talent shows – something of a contentious issue in the music industry – thinks Kylie will be back. “My gut feeling is that Kylie is coming back,” he told The Sun. “I don’t believe all this ‘commitments’ stuff.”
Then there’s the last line of Moore’s statement: “the new line-up has really connected with audiences and I look forward to it returning to the channel next year.” Is that just a hint or are things signed sealed and delivered? We’ll have to wait to find out but the signs are pointing to a Kylie return.
If the BBC get their way, Kylie Minogue will return for more Voice action
"Kylie is a fantastic addition to the coaching lineup. We are aware of Kylie's touring commitments and are looking to accommodate them, so that if the series is recommissioned, she could return to her coaching role,” the BBC said in a statement, according to Digital Spy. "Discussions are still ongoing and it's too early to speculate, as we've not finished this series yet."
