Australian pop star Kylie Minogue is reportedly planning to take more than a year off from music to focus on her acting career.

The singer, who found fame in Aussie soap opera Neighbours in 1986, is said to be moving forward with a Hollywood comeback after taking on several small roles in recent years, including a turn in 2012 drama Holy Motors.

A source tells British newspaper The Sun, "Kylie is desperate for a break from music. This year she's done (U.K. and Australian versions of) The Voice and had an album release and a world tour... She's looking forward to a new start and wants to concentrate on being an actress by securing major movie roles."

Minogue is set to star alongside wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne Johnson in action film San Andreas next year (15).

She previously appeared in 1994's Street Fighter and Moulin Rouge! in 2001.
